Adult Sedona Scarf & Wrap Pattern

Hi, friends! Thanks for stopping by. I thought I’d share the Sedona Scarf pattern with you all today!! Many of you from Instagram may recognize this as the “Saban Scarf”.. I am changing the name because the scarf matches the Sedona Bow that is also on the blog so different name but same design. This blog post currently features a pattern for an adult size scarf, and I’ll have it updated with a child size pattern soon! Hope you enjoy!!

  • G Hook (4.00 mm Clover Hook)
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Worsted weight or cotton yarn (I use I Love This Cotton {3 skeins} or I Love This Yarn {2 skeins} from Hobby Lobby) There are many different ways to make the scarf: combine random colors for an eclectic look (scrap yarn works great!), use black and white for a houndstooth pattern, work in a solid color for a simple look, or even combine red + green, black + orange to create a holiday scarf! 🎄🎃

  • We will be using the houndstooth or griddle stitch for the scarf. This stitch alternates between DC & SC, creating a bumpy texture.
  • Begin and end each row with DC.
  • Do not Ch 1 to begin each row. (Please note: if you wish to ch 1 to begin each row, that is fine! That works too. I prefer going directly into the DC on the next row because gives the edges a nice clean, crisp look. Do not count ch 1 as a st.)

  • Ch (chain)
  • Ch St (chain st)
  • SC (single crochet)
  • DC (double crochet)

  • Ch 221
  • Row 1: DC into 3rd ch from hook, SC in next, DC in next, continue alternating between DC and SC until you reach the end of the ch for 219 st. You will end with DC. Turn work. Do not ch 1.
  • Rows 2- 22: (Change color if desired) *DC, SC, DC* for 219 st.
  • Sl st to finish. Sew in ends and trim with scissors.
  • Add border and/or fringe if desired.
  • That’s it!

Complete 16 rows for a skinny verson, 26 rows for a wider scarf..

& 40 rows for a wrap.

Child size: I’ll have that for y’all soon!
